Kari Nelson, MSN, FNP-BC
Primary care built on relationships.
Kari Nelson, MSN, FNP-BC, is a Family Nurse Practitioner and the primary care provider behind Cary Primary Care. Her approach is centered on getting to know her patients, making care easier to access, and building long-term relationships that support better health over time.
Kari began her education at North Central College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 2011. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lakeview College of Nursing in 2014 and a Master of Science in Nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2017.
Since becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner, Kari has built her career in primary care. She began practicing at Christie Clinic in Champaign, Illinois, later cared for veterans as a primary care provider with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and most recently practiced with Northwestern Medicine.
Opening Cary Primary Care gives Kari the opportunity to bring that experience closer to home and create a primary care experience built around time, accessibility, clear communication, and continuity.
Kari and her family live in Cary, where she and her husband are raising their two children. Outside of medicine, Kari is also a licensed private pilot and enjoys flying in her spare time.
As both a local resident and a healthcare provider, she is excited to care for the community she and her family call home.
